SAE J1128 Standard Requirements

Siechem GXL/SXL cables are manufactured in an AS9100D, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified facility. All wires are 100% spark-tested and meet RoHS EU Directive.

GXL — General Purpose Cross-linked

Thin-wall XLPO insulation for general vehicle wiring applications. Smaller outer diameter and lower weight than standard PVC alternatives. Available in bare and tinned conductor variants.

SXL — Special Purpose Cross-linked

Thicker-wall XLPO for demanding underhood and special purpose applications. Provides greater mechanical protection for environments with higher abrasion or vibration exposure.

EBXL Technology

Electron beam crosslinking creates a three-dimensional polymer network that prevents melting at elevated temperatures, improves cut-through resistance, and maintains flexibility in cold environments down to −40°C.

Manufacturing Excellence

EBXL Production & Testing

Siechem's in-house electron beam irradiation facility and fully equipped laboratory ensure every GXL/SXL wire meets zero-defect quality standards before despatch.

1.5 / 3.0 MeV accelerator

Electron Beam Crosslinking

High-energy electron bombardment permanently crosslinks the XLPO insulation polymer chains, eliminating melt-flow at rated temperatures and significantly improving cut-through resistance.

100% Spark Tested

Inline Quality Testing

Every metre is spark-tested at 1 kV during production. NABL-accredited laboratory performs tensile, elongation, cold bend, heat aging, and fuel/oil resistance qualification tests.

400,000 sq.ft facility

High-Speed Extrusion Lines

PLC-controlled tandem extrusion lines deliver precise wall thickness control. Colour coding is applied inline with optical verification, supporting 90+ standard and custom colour options.
