A 1 million sq.ft state-of-the-art facility in Pondicherry with a potential output of up to 15,000 km of precision cables daily.
Siechem operates a fully integrated, in-house manufacturing facility for wires, cables, and accessories, equipped with advanced machinery sourced from leading global manufacturers as well as reputed domestic suppliers.
The Siechem manufacturing facility is highly automated, featuring SCADA and IoT-enabled systems designed for real-time monitoring, process control, and data-driven operations. The facility is future-ready, with capabilities to integrate advanced robotics and digital manufacturing technologies. Customers are provided with 24x7 access through an online portal, enabling transparent engagement with shop-floor operations, quality control processes, and remote product testing.
Located in Pondicherry, approximately 140 km from Chennai Airport, the facility spans around 1 million sq. ft. and supports the complete manufacturing value chain, from copper and aluminium rod drawing to finished wire and cable production. Siechem currently has an annual production capacity of approximately 35,000 metric tonnes of copper and aluminium wires and cables, with a potential output of up to 15,000 km per day for smaller-size wires alone.
The product portfolio ranges from 0.15 sq. mm to 1,750 sq. mm, covering Class 2, Class 5, and Class 6 flexible cables, as well as multi-core power, data, and instrumentation cables in both armoured and unarmoured variants. These are supported by six electron-beam accelerators at the Pondicherry facility.
Siechem is also expanding its manufacturing footprint with a new 10-acre facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, near Delhi.
In Tamil Nadu, the company is developing another large-scale manufacturing facility spanning approximately 125 acres, dedicated to power cables up to 132 kV. This is planned to be one of the largest cable manufacturing facilities in India and the largest of its kind in South India.
A key strength of Siechem lies in its highly integrated, end-to-end manufacturing capabilities. The company operates its own Cable Studio for the development of customised cable designs in both 2D and 3D, supported by in-house R&D and specialised manufacturing processes, including:
This extensive vertical integration enables Siechem to maintain complete control over the manufacturing value chain with minimal reliance on external sources, ensuring consistent quality, stringent process control, faster product development, and reliable delivery to customers.
